Tuett is 2 months old now! That first month truly was a blur. The second month has been much more memorable, meaning I am not in such a thick fog anymore. He is still waking up a few times a night, and for a while there we were getting some GREAT stretches, but he must be hitting a growth spurt or something b/c we are back to some frequent wake ups. At least he does not have day/night reversal anymore - he is pretty good about eating and going right back to sleep. Except last night he was up from 4- 5:30 am. Not sure what was up! He did sleep in till 8:45 though =)
In cute milestone news...he is SMILING and laughing now. His laugh is more like a giggle, it is so adorable. And his smile just melts me. He doesn't smile at me or anyone else yet...he just smiles at everything - the fan, the walls, the windows, art work, etc....so sometimes it looks like he is smiling at me but I know that's not quite it, not yet, but it must be around the corner. He is just practicing.
He LOVES being on his changing table. I have 2 canvases I painted with some wavy lines and he is mesmerized by the colors (light blue/white/dark brown), and could lay their all day kicking and talking to his paintings. I confess I have brought reading material into his room and have stood beside him for 20 minutes reading while he is just having a ball.
I also noticed he has vision. This little man is discovering his world now...and ever since he has been fighting sleep - he just does not want to stop taking it all in. So we did have a nice night time routine and then bam, he would be asleep...now we follow the routine (bath, jammies, dim the house lights, eat/rock/sleep)...but instead of ending with sleep he will doze off then his little eye balls will pop open...he then can cause himself to get overtired and cranky while fighting this sleep, so it's been fun figuring out how to prevent this...The boy does enjoy being in slings, so luckily I can tote him around or bop/dance with him in the sling and he will eventually doze off, sometimes it's just tricky getting him to stay that way when he isn't in the sling. My good boy is taking a nap in his crib right now though, so I can't complain.
