I'm a pirate!

Truett's First Halloween

All we really needed was a yard and a stroller...they could have played with/on/under this thing all day.

Such a daddy's boy!

Probably chasing after Dalton or searching for his next blade of grass to eat...

We toured a pirate's cove. Can you tell Truett wasn't thrilled by it?

My 'lil pirate! This hat didn't last long...he prefered the bandana (that's our boy ;)

They "fought" over this toy, LOL!

He was squealing with delight while searching for his perfect pumpkin...

Tuckered out at the end of the day!

We took Truett to the Houston Zoo Boo on Sunday. We love the zoo and had a great experience the first time we took him...however going to a special event at the zoo is chaos and I doubt we'll ever go back for the "Boo." It was SO crowded. Parking was terrible....but, once we got inside, it was well worth the trip. We met up with our friends Matt and Leslie who have a son, Dalton, 1 week younger than Truett. Their daddies have been best friends forever...since they were young kiddos...so it's only natural the boys were already acting like brothers, ha ha. It was too cute seeing them together. My cheeks were hurting b/c the way the interacted cracked me up so much! Despite the crowds and missing out on seeing a lot of animals (this just means we all need season passes now), it was GREAT time!

Busy Bees

Crawling around in Momo's kennel...

His FAVORITE book!

The spider book is a close second.

With his buddy, of course.

Looking in the backyard for Momo...

Love this toothy grin

At the church petting zoo...going for the bunny...

Going for the goat in this picture. He was also going for the pony and cow (not pictured). He has no fear...

Having fun at our local park!

October has been a BUSY month. Weddings, birthday parties, church carnivals, fall festivals, trips to the park....and we're not done. This weekend we're tackling "Zoo Boo" at the Houston Zoo. This will be Truett's second trip to the zoo!

My handsome guy

Ooooh, mama loves this face!
Tomorrow Truett turns 10 months old. I got nostalgic yesterday when I went to pick him up from the sitters and met the new baby she's watching (who is a teeny tiny 2.5 month old). This means Truett is no longer "THE baby" at her place:( Bittersweet indeed. Kinda makes me want another...
Truett's latest tricks include cruising anything he can (including the dog), the constant pulling up, and (sad) the desire to no longer snuggle (b/c he'd rather be on the move). Oh man, how I miss those baby snuggles. Now the only time I can ge a cuddle is when he's sleepy (so either early morning or right before bed). This boy is getting enrolled in sprots asap - he is SO active. How can I forget to mention he is also climbing/crawling the stairs... I am also pretty sure he is saying "dog" -- he says "dah"...and it's different than his "dada" sound. Too cute. He's eating pretty much all solid foods. Every now and then if he hasn't eaten much I'll still offer a jar of baby food so I know he's getting enough calories/nutrition. He is hit or miss with food. Some days he gobbles it down, other days he flails his arms and wants nothing to do with it. He's also getting good at the "back arch" when he doesn't get what he wants...Oh boy! I'm working on the sippy...he's just now getting the hang of holding his own bottle, so this is all still a work in progress. I can't believe in two short months he will be turning one! I remember the pregnancy and birth/labor so well, it really doesn't feel all that long ago.

October?!?!

His face right after his shots. My poor little BoBo!

Big boy

True with his buddies: Eliie, Truett, Colton and Jackson

I haven't updated in a while so I know I will leave out some cool stuff. Oops! We've been busy. The days fly by, weeks go even faster and the weekends...huh?? What are those?

Truett is a mess! A fun, sweet, adorable mess. He is such a fun loving baby boy. He is so strong. He is pulling up on everything and still mobile via army crawling and now regular crawling. He pushes or pulls things (heavy things) clear across the room or house. Did I mention he is pulling up on everything? Ha. Climbing walls, the oven, dishwasher, doors, Mocha, pulling up on benches, couches, tables, window sills, entertainment center, bathtubs, crib, gates, toys, stairs...you name it. Lately he has been opening his board books and making sounds...it is so precious, it's as if he is reading. I love watching him do things like that when he thinks no one is looking. I cannot believe he is going to be 10 months very soon, and his 1 year birthday is not far behind. Where has the time gone? We love our little man so much, it's by far been one of the most special years of our lives.
