5 Months

Having fun at the Houston zoo (carousel ride)

Tomorrow Truett turns 5 months old. How did that happen? I forgot to blog that I have moved back into my room. LOL, no longer sleeping in the guest room which was right beside his room. Now we are back on the bottom level and our "big boy" is up on the second floor. He is such a good little man!

We've started rice cereal in the evenings and just this week I introduced sweet potatoes. He loves those! I'm not surprised....

We had a great weekend last weekend - it was Truett's first zoo experience! We went with my brother Mike and his two precious kids, Alexa and Aidan, and Ted's parents. Everyone had such an awesome time. All three kids were pretty darn good if I don't say so myself!

Also, just signed up for my first post baby MARATHON. YIKES!!! I am going to run the San Antonio marathon in November, and then I will try to run the Houston marathon in January. This means Ted is on Saturday morning duty so I can get out the door early before the Texas heat sets in to get in my long runs. He is so far from being a morning person and Truett is an early riser so...thanks babe ;)

STTN

STTN = Sleeping Through the Night

So, Saturday night Truett gave me the best Mother's Day gift...he STTN, truly! He slept from about 7pm - 6:30am. 11.5 glorious hours! He then did the same thing on Sunday night and Monday night (plus or minus an hour on the bedtime and wakuptime...he is an early bird and actually prefers to be asleep by like 6:30pm...). Last night he only woke once to eat. So, I am thinking this weekend might have been a break though!!! Is it possible he is learning to STTN on his own? I certainly hope so. He has always been a decent sleeper to begin with, so I was hoping and praying he could figure it out on his own. My prayers have been answered and hopefully this is a trend that continues. It makes me nervous he woke up last night, but I have to hand it to him - he woke after an 8 hour stretch (which many consider STTN anyways), plus he missed a feeding yesterday so he was most likley making up for it. Hopefully he goes back to STTN for us, and in the meantime I can handle a random wake up every once in a while. I am the type that really needs a good 7 hours to feel fully refreshed, so when he sleeps this long it still gives me time to workout, clean, cook, etc...and then makes all the T time that much better b/c I am not busy trying to fit in other stuff as well. Our baby is growin' up!

4.5 month updates

4 and a half months...that's just crazy! At his appt last week we got the following stats:

Weight: 15 pounds 11 ounces (TRIPLE his 5 pounds from the hospital), 75th percentile
Length: 24 3/8 inches, 25th percentile
Head: 25th percentile

He is basically a chunky monkey! We just love him to pieces and we don't know how or why we got so lucky to have such a happy laid back little man. But I thank God and our lucky stars every day. He is soaking in his world and it's amazing to watch. He has mastered the art of jumping in his jumperoo, and he is still working on rolling both ways and sitting up. We've introduced rice cereal with mixed reviews. He is still young so no pressure to do it on a regular basis at this point.

Rollin, Rollin, Rollin...

Well, we have movement people!

Truett aka now Little King (because of his sleep sack/king's robe) or Popeye (because of his ripped arms), is rolling from his belly to his back. So he is currently just rolling over one way. He is soooo strong on his tummy (IMO). He lifts way up, and I knew he was going to roll over anyday. He would lift himself, tilt to the side, and then get stuck on one side. He finally figured he needs to whip his arm out from under him to get him all the way to his back. Now if only he could figure out how to roll back over. The poor guy woke up last night crying (scared) b/c he had rolled from his tummy to his back and couldn't get back over. Hehe. It was funny and gave me a good excuse to steal a few more kisses before putting him back down.

His 4 month appt is today ( ya, we're a week late....should have been last week). I hope he takes the shots OK and feels alright afterwards. I am so curious to see how long he is and how much he weighs. His sitter guess 15-16 pounds, I am guessing High 14 or low 15.
