Oh my gosh, I have completely forgotten about this blog I started. With being back to work, the days really fly by. I never imagined time would go so fast. I guess the good news is it keeps me from missing Tru too much during the work day, but the bad news is he is really turning into a little man! And I am getting very behing on the picture taking. I can't find my camera. Yikes!
Where do I even begin? I never knew I could have so much love in my heart for one little dude! (cue the water works) Not too mention how much joy/smiles/laughs he brings us. I love how the simplest things a baby does are also the most entertaining and enjoyable. It really brings perspective back to life. Ya know? I love making the little man grin - or watch him laughing at shadows, etc. I think he might have dimples, but it's hard to tell - could it just be a crease because his cheeks are so chubby? Or does he have dimples like Ted's side of the family? He changes every day so there is still no way of knowing. He still looks like mini Ted, but sometimes when he gets sleepy I think he looks like he has a little bit of me in him. He is also becoming quite the chubster!
Truett still loves his bath. He use to just sit in it and stare ahead with a very serious look on his face. Now he is actually becoming a little more interactive. I sing "Splish, splash I was takin' a bath..." and that really gets him going. Ha ha! I probably shouldn't have...but I'm teaching him how to splash - kicking legs and splashing arms. Someday I'm sure I'll wonder what was I thinking...but for now it's still cute.
We are making some progress on the sleep front! He goes to bed at 7 p in his crib (big boy!), and usually doesn't wake again until midnight or 1 am to eat. Then again around 4. Then I leave for work and I guess Ted wakes him around 7ish before dropping off at the neighbors. He doesn't sleep like that every single night...but, we are getting there. Pretty soon I'll try to phase out a feeding, but for now that jsut seems like too much work... I can operate on the sleep I am getting these days.
Truett is also a fan of some new songs "If you're happy and you know it.." and "Head, shoulders, knees and toes..." He still really only "plays" with one toy - his aquarium mat that has dangly toys and lights. He also LOVES looking at his mobile in his crib. He could talk to it all day long. I wish the thing would stay on for longer, but I find myself having to wind it up all the time. He has pretty strong head control, and lately I have been sitting him up a lot (propped up of course), so I am sure there are a few more milestones right around the corner. Yesterday when I picked him up he was busy flirting and cooing with the enighbor. Stinker! I brought him home and almost ate him up with kisses. Gosh, am I turning into one of THOSE moms? Ha!
He is still my little buddy out in the stroller. He use to fall right alseep, but nowadays he is more interested in what's going on in the world, so he will try to stay awake but usually by the time we are home he has fallen asleep. Ted gets him in the mornings now so that's daddy and T time. I hope they're enjoying it and having fun. You are pretty much guaranteed to have a good day if you start it out with Tru. He must get his morning personality from me because we know it isn't from his daddy. Ha ha!
As for Ted and I - we are doing good. He is super busy at work right now, and I am trying to find balance between work/mommyhood/wifedom and still running like the old days (ya right, huh?) We really need to get crackin' out in the yard...we've totally neglected. Oops, guess you could say we've been busy. Mocha is also doing well - she gave Truett his first "sugar" on the cheek the other day. A big ole sloppy lick from Momo! She has probably been dying to do that. She really snuck that one in!
I need to be better about updating this blog. Who really wants to read a huge long post? =P
