Pregnancy

I will call this my updated almost 6 month picture:

This pregnancy is whizzing by...here I am at 23 weeks with Truett poking my belly. I've been awful about taking belly pics this time around!

Rainy Afternoons

Ugh! It's been raining in the afternoon all.the.time. I know it's a summer thing...this happens every year.

We do play outside in the rain...what can I say, my boy loves the outdoors? On days I don't feel like getting wet though we have to think of new things.

This week I discovered our library has the most awesome computers for toddlers! True doesn't really get how to play the games yet, but he loves sitting there and moving the mouse and acting like he knows what's going on:

We also have playgroup on Thursday afternons, which we both love. This was from a few weeks ago and the story behind this rocking cow is kind of funny. Truett hopped on it at Garrison's house and started rocking on it so hard he went across the room and his hair was just a flyin' everywhere (well, his mullet area), and I'm pretty sure the entire room was cracking up. Maybe I need to enroll him in riding lessons??

Another day I took him to the YMCA and figured he could run around the open gyms with basketballs and let loose...ya, me and every teenager in the city must have thought of this idea so unfortunately my Little Man couldn't really be free. We ended up just watching the guys play BBall for a while before heading home:

Weekend Recap

It's Wednesday night and I have some blog posts to update! Bear with me...

We had a really fun weekend. Lots of activties to keep Truett entertained and we had fun along the way, too. He is such a riot. We all needed this since my car had been broken into on Wednesday and I had been dealing with that for the remainder of last week - grrr. Moving on!

So, Saturday morning we all got up bright and early and headed out for a family morning at the zoo. It was nice - we got there just as it opened so True was able to explore all the exhibits without too many people in his way. We went to the Natural Encounters where he got to climb in and out fo a tunnel that passes through an aquarium - he loved this. We also visited the fishes, birds, elephants (watched them eat their breakfast), giraffes, cheetas, jaguars, and then finally made our way to the kiddie zone. Truett (Boss Man), had both Ted and I brushing goats with him in the petting zoo, and then we watched bats and of course searched for all the Ah-boos in sight. We love our membership b/c we don't feel rushed to see it all and we leave as soon as we're feeling too hot, hungry, or whatever.

When we got home it was lunch and nap time. T did the funniest thing. He took his nap and when he woke up I brought him to the couch to snuggle as I usually do on the weekend. Ted and Mo were also relaxing on the couch...next thing we know Truett has dozed back off for round 2 of his nap. Silly boy. He woke up 30 minutes later cute as pie and ready to get on with the second part of his day. For that, we headed over to BB and Pappy's so Ted could help his grandfather finish up some things in his garden. We had to make a pit stop to check out their new Wii and then T and I hit the splash park with BB while the guys worked.

Sunday was another fun day. T and I did our usual - grocery shopping in the morning - which he loves b/c he knows he'll get to "drive" (yes, we HAVE to get the car cart now), plus there are always tasty snacks for him. And I especially love our new tradition of Sunday morning dounts...a habit I will need to break after this pregnancy, lol. We kept busy all morning, napped, and then once he was up we hit the road for the CHildren's Museum. We met up with Matt, Leslie and Mr. D. Who knew it was FREE day at the CM? The place was packed so we just stayed in the Tot Spot the whole time. Ted has a lot of adorbale pictures from our little outings so I need to add these to my post at some point...

My Baby's First Haircut

Well, we finally did it - we chopped off little man's hair (mullet). I have been saying for weeks now that we are going to cut it...and then I chicken out. It was SO him, all the wild hair. Lately though, his little hairs have been plastered in sweat to his neck and it was very unruly...and just...well, time. (I may or may not have gotten "she" comments lately, too.) I am having a hard time with this (how dorky am I!) It's just a drastic change to go from all that wispy baby hair to a real boy cut. I am in no rush to cut it again. We took almost 19 months to get his first hair cut and I might just wait that long again to see what happens. If it stays curly it might look really adorable all grown out sans mullet. I do admit, the mullet needed to go, so now at least his entire head of hair is starting at the same length (he's had his mullet since birth...infact, after his newborn hair fell out he was left with just a patch of a mullet, LOL!)

Here is the curly mullet at the zoo.

And bed head with wispy hair everywhere.

The new back.

All done and enjoying a treat.

Happy B-Day Hubs & Happy 4th!

Ted is a 4th of July baby so what better way to start out the 4th than with a donut "cake" for breakfast? Truett and I went off to the store early in the morning so daddy could sleep in on his birthday...funny thing is I forgot my wallet at home so we had to call the birthday boy and wake him up anyways! Oh well, I don't think he cared too much. We escaped to a movie in the afternoon while BB and Pappy babysat Truett, and then watched fireworks on TV later that night. Unfortunately our neighborhood cancelled the "big" fireworks show so we didn't get to see any in person. It seems like these get rained out almost every.single.year, so here's hoping we can enjoy them next year!

Ah-Boo....AHHHHH-BOO!

An "Ah-boo" is a piece of trash or a trash can. When said like "AHHHHHH-BOO!" it means "P-UUU!"
