Truett had his 18 month check up yesterday. He did SO well at the doctor, mama was so proud. We played doctor all weekend to get ready for the big day, so hopefully that had gotten him ready for the big visit. He even sat in a big boy chair all by himself (not on mommy's lap!) and let the doctor check his heartbeat, his ears, his throat, his belly, etc, etc. He did so, so good. She asked about his eating, to which I replied he is on the typical toddler eating plan. Ketchup and air one night, and then a feast 2 nights later. She said yep, that's totally normal! He even said a few words on command to let her know he was learning new vocab every day. As long as he stays healthy we don't back again until his 2 year check up...which made me realize the next time we see her will be the new baby's appointment - OMG! Wowza!
Here are little man's stats --
Weight: 24 lbs 8 ounces (33%)
Height: ALmost 33 inches (I think it was 32 and 3/4 inches, 66%)
Head: 55% (don't remember the measurements)
He also had 3 shots and now he is done until 3 or 4 yr shots. YAY!

Bring.It.On! We are expecting a GIRL this time around!
We are SO excited. I was and I guess still am super shocked (in a good way, of course). A Girl! Eeeee! Now what? LOL! Now that my shock has finally started to wear off I'm getting into girl mode...we also have to get big brother Tru ready to share his home with another baby. I'm working on it! Most importanly, baby girl was healthy on the ultrasound and being active in there. She is on the small side, just like Truett was at this stage (and throughout the entire pregnancy), so looks like my body is following suit again. This was our 2D mid-pregnancy u/s done by my doctor. He also does a third 3D u/s around 28 weeks to check on growth and position so we can't wait to see her again!
Speaking of baby, over the weekend True did the sweetest thing. I'm trying to teach him that mommy's belly is going to get bigger b/c there's a baby inside, so I point to my belly and tell him that's were the baby is. On Saturday morning when he was still soft and warm from just waking up (btw... isn't that the best feeling in the world?), I brought him in bed with me and all on his own he lifted my shirt and patted my tummy and told me "baby, baby" :) It just melted me.
Our little man is 18 months old today. Happy Half Birthday Baby Boy! We love you so much, you make our world go round! Thank you for being you and for having such a cheerful, friendly, curious, and funny personality. You are the highlight of our day. Daddy loves coming home after work and having you so excited to see him. And mommy adores all our afternoon & evening playtime together. I especially love putting you to bed - when you are laying still and cozy up to me, wrapping your little chubby arms around my shoulders. I don't know if you can hear me but I must whisper "I love you" and kiss your cheeks about 50 times before I actually lay you down.
Some funny things you do these days are: B-boxin' with daddy, dancing even when the music isn't on, being OBSESSED with ah-boos (trash cans), bossing us around by telling us to sit in certain places (it's especially cute how you make the entire family - all 4 of us, including Mocha, sit close to each other at the table or on the couch), you love going in daddy's studying and looking for him, you love water hoses and running the water, you say please & thank you (pease & dank ooo)...just to name a few.

Birthday Parties!
Last week Truett had 2 fun birthday parties to attend. The first one was Sebastian's first birthday. His mommy did such a beautiful job setting up for her little prince! This is our Sienna playgroup - we just love our little (well, now big), group! The kiddos have been together since Decemeber....and between myself and 2 other moms we'll be adding 3 more babies to the group this fall/winter.
Our next party was Ellie's second birthday. Her birthday was an adorable Elmo theme. Unfortunately I don't have many pictures, but needless to say we all (all 3 of us) had a really great time! Ellie and Truett really hit off and towards the end of the party they were wagon riding together, sharing her new baby doll and stroller, and of course kissing and hugging, lol.
The one and only picture from Ellie's party. True & the birthday girl going for a ride in her new wagon. And yes, that's my son blowing kisses to the crowd.
Swimming in Sebastian's beautiful backyard pool.

Galveston Trip
We're back! We had such a great time on our mini Galveston trip. We had a good 3 days to get some sun and enjoy the sites at Moody Gardens.
Sadly, the trip started out with a sick Ted. He came home early on Thursday with a fever and feeling over fluey - sore throat, aches, etc. I was so worried he wouldn't have a good time. Thankfully Nyquil and Dayquil had him back in tip top shape in no time. Phew!
Friday we arrived around 12:30 and got settle into our condo. Somehow I was able to Truett to nap in his Pack N Play (it took a while but he did it!) Meanwhile, our friends Jill and Scott were arriving with their little boys who were all set and ready to head to the "wah-wah." First things first we walked across the street to the beach...We were basically there long enough to say we went. Truett had a good time though, he even fell head first in the waves and got right back up. The green bugs and seaweed made the experience a little icky, but this is Galveston, right? It's all we have. After his first Gulf water experience we hiked back to the hotel pool and hung out there until dinner time.
Saturday we went to Palm Beach at Moody Gardens and spent the first few hours of the day there. The "beee" as Truett would say. It was perfect for the kiddos! Ted and I both agree we could spend a whole few days there - we are going back for sure. The sand there is NOT gulf sand, and the water is really a lagoon/pool with plenty of play areas for the little ones. After a bunch of beach time we drove around hoping T would nap (he didn't), so we all got cleaned up and went to the Moody Aquarium. It was SO crowded it was actually a bit difficult to enjoy. We ended up at The Strand in the evening. Dinner was...interesting (lol, Jill knows what I mean). After dinner we took Truett to the "famous" candy shop (famous b/c I always went there as a kid) and bought him some homemade chocolates. He LOVED the peanut butter cups (pictures to follow). We then headed back to the condo and T and I went to bed early after a full day.
Sunday we all got together in the condo for breakfast (b/c we absolutely could not have the horrid condo "hot" breakfast again - lol). Jill and Scoot headed home early and Ted and I decided to try and hit all the Moody attractions as soon as possible in hopes of beating the crowd. We did! We got there early and this time we enjoyed the Aquarium - there was barely anyone there. We were able to take our time and check out all the cool fish, penguins, sharks, corals, etc, etc. It's really beautiful. Even Truett was amazed and had a fun time! Then we went to the Rainforest Pyramid to see the bugs, plants, trees, parrots, etc, and that was fun, too. We rounded out the trip at the Butterfly Tent and then headed home. It was a really good day!

Walk Like A Dinsosaur
Oh man, Truett is cracking us up these days. We just adore this age. I can see why parents with older kids look at tots and say, "Enjoy this age! It goes by so fast!" He is just being a hilarious little creature, and also a sweetie. We have been spending our hot weekends at the pool and he loves it...he goes back and forth between mommy, daddy, and anyone (like grandparents nad neighbors) who will take him around.
One day when we were at BB & Pappy's house the move Ice Age 3 was ending. As the credits roll it plays this Queen Latifah song, "Walk Like A Dinosaur". When Truett first heard this song he started dancing...fast forward a few weeks and now he goes crazy with it. Ted downloaded it on You Tube and we play it over and over and over. Lil' T has some moves I've never seen before...shoulder shakin', knee slapping, arm wavin'...it's too funny! We are trying to get it on video but of course when we bust it out he wants the camera and tops his moves...so we have to be sneaky about it.
Poor buddy has also been dealing with some awful molars coming in. I guess these are the 2 yr molars? I remember at his 15 month appt his ped said he looked liked he was going to get them early...and I guess she was right. He ran a fever almost all weekend and was pretty miserable if he thought about it (hence lots of pool time and silly dancing in our house!). We really, really hope little man has some tooth relief very soon. Afterall, we have our first family of 3 vacation coming up this weekend. We're headed to Galveston and meeting up with our good friends Jill & Scoot (aka Scott) and their 2 boys for some fun in the sun. Can't wait!
