So sweet together. My cuddle bunnies.
Having fun with Momo in the morning. Can you tell she's not ready to play yet?
After tubby time last week. He loves his nakey time.
Ted was out of town last week so I took daily pictures with my phone and sent them - these are a few of my favorites, although the quality is not the best...
Tooth! And other updates
Our little man got his first tooth on August 2nd! We went to visit with family in Port Arthur and we were outside when I noticed the slit everyone talks about pre-emerging tooth...sure enough the next morning he had a sharp prick pointing out! It's taken about a good week or more for the tooth to pop through. And it isn't fully all the way "up" yet but it's now a flat top so it's almost there. I'm pretty certain he's got a few more on the bottom working their way up as well (his crabbiness and lack of eating are huge flags for this). He hasn't been eating like his usual piggy self (he started gobbling 2 jars of baby food per meal last week after the initial "pop" of his tooth but has since then gone downhill again, especially when it comes to drinking.)
Also, why didn't I think of this sooner??? Somehow I managed to squeeze a guest bed, TV + stand, and my treadmill PLUS a play area for Truett all into the same room. And it's a decent play space - I put up a large baby fence so his zone is completely safe for him to roam free. The first day I put him in he went around the entire thing in a huge circle stopping at each toy along the way.
He is army crawling and he is fast! When you sit him down he can get into the crawling position all on his own. Ted calls him the wounded solider because it's exactly what he looks like. He is so determined when he's playing now, it is amazing to watch him play and learn. He is pretty good about playing independently, but if he knows you're watching he'll stop every now and then, turn and look for you, and then smile his huge gummy grin. And he especially loves when you cheer or praise him for doing things.
Truett's also trying hard to pull up on things around the house. He hasn't figured out yet that he can pull on his crib rails...but we need to lower his crib anyways. (Note to self!)
Little man is getting great at finger foods and I'm getting braver at giving him larger chunks. He's now had, toast (his new favorite), graham crackers (a close second favorite), bananas, guac (this is hit or miss), puffs/Os, mum-mums, and random bites of whatever I'm eating. Mocha knows high chair = snack time for her as well. Overall, we're just having a blast with this little guy. He's napping and sleeping well these day, and loves going to new places. I have noticed he is getting a bit of "stranger danger" - the other day at the grocery store I leaned down to pick something off the bottom shelf and he freaked out when an employee talked to him and I wasn't within eyesight. As long as he can see someone he knows he is a ham with strangers...but if not...well, he gets scared. I'm so thankful for Kari (our neighbor/babysitter), he loves her so it makes for a smooth transition in the morning.
I think I covered the latest changes and developments...it's all happening so fast it's getting harder to keep track of...
